Aon had already strengthened its portfolio in the shipping, transportation and logistics sector in 2022 with the acquisition of the marine broker Karl Köllner. At the start of the new year, Lutz Brüggemann joined the team as a further Managing Director.

Brüggemann joins Aon from JWA Marine

Brüggemann, most recently Executive Director at JWA Marine (Willis Towers Watson) in Bremen, is regarded as a proven expert in the industry. He will manage Karl Köllner’s new, additional office in Bremen.

“Lutz Brüggemann brings further outstanding expertise on board,” says Ulfert Paulsen, Managing Director at Karl Köllner Marine. “I am therefore very pleased to be establishing a strong team in Bremen as well.”

Customers in the marine sector include shipping companies of all sizes as well as shipyards and ship owners. In future, Karl Köllner Marine will be represented by a total of 13 experts at three locations in Hamburg, Bremen and Mülheim an der Ruhr. “The signs are clearly pointing to growth for us in the shipping sector,” says Kai Büchter, CEO Aon DACH.
