Anschütz to showcase Synapsis NX at SMM

German navigation system company Anschütz will use SMM 2026 to showcase a new generation of navigation systems designed to strengthen situational awareness, resilience and efficiency on the bridge, even in demanding operational conditions.

A key highlight is the latest Synapsis NX software release, which expands the capabilities of the company’s integrated navigation system. Based on operational requirements, the update is designed to improve situational awareness, optimise workflows and reduce workload on the bridge, helping crews make faster and more informed decisions.

The release introduces a range of new functions. Generic Overlay enables the integration of external sensor data directly into ECDIS NX, creating a unified operational picture on a single display. Features including asymmetric cross track distance and shallowest leg depth are intended to improve route monitoring and depth awareness in challenging waters. Enhanced Anchor Watch, together with Harbour Mode and Blackout Mode, is designed to simplify operation and reduce distractions.

According to Anschütz, Synapsis NX provides a common data platform linking radar, ECDIS and conning into an integrated navigation system with harmonised operating logic and a shared situational picture across all workstations.

In addition to the current software release, Anschütz will present developments for the next generation of maritime navigation. These include the company’s first collision avoidance assistance system (CAS), designed to provide rule-based decision support, and a new maintenance-free gyrocompass based on coriolis vibratory gyro technology.
