The provider of sustainable system solutions for the maritime industry will be exhibiting in Hall A1, stand 226. From the different requirements of future fuels to increasing energy efficiency on board and improving EEDI/EEXI and CII, Alfa Laval offers a range of solutions that save fuel and improve ship operations.
OceanGlide, for example, is a fluidic air lubrication system which provides propulsion power savings of up to 12%. The improved two-stage Aqua Blue E2 freshwater generator cuts the seawater needs and power consumption for freshwater generation into half. The Alfa Laval E-PowerPack converts waste heat directly into clean electrical power. And the newly launched PureBallast 3 Ultra for ballast water management, delivers superior performance in any waters and challenging conditions while minimizing power consumption. Another exciting project is the joint venture with Wallenius and the project Oceanbird: wing sails for existing and new built vessels.
Furthermore, Alfa Laval is supporting the vessels with existing and emerging fuels. Through technology development it is facilitating the shift to alternative fuels such as LNG, LPG, biofuels, methanol, and ammonia. The Swedish company also focuses on digital solutions: StormGeo, part of Alfa Laval, enables ships to enhance operational efficiency, improve safety, and make sustainable route choices via digital solutions.
The company is also running a test and training centre in Denmark. With Alfa Laval equipment installed in complete process lines and a testing space of 2,800 square metres, the centre replicates a full-size vessel engine room on land. It is a unique setup where Alfa Laval can test and refine its solutions under real-time conditions.
