After Iranian attack: DP World reports “regular port operations” in Jebel Ali

Following the Iranian attacks on the port of Jebel Ali in the United Arab Emirates, terminal operator DP World reports “regular” operations.

“All terminals in the port of Jebel Ali in Dubai are operating as normal,” reads a brief statement from the Group today. The company is continuing to monitor developments closely and is in close contact with the relevant authorities. Meanwhile, the increased security measures in the entire port area remain in place.

In the course of the military escalation between the USA, Israel and Iran, the regime in Tehran has repeatedly attacked sites in other countries. Targets include military and logistics facilities belonging to the USA, Israel and their allies. So far, there have also been attacks on three tankers, bomb attacks on the international airports of Bahrain, Dubai and Zayed, sites in Cyprus and the ports of Jebel Ali in the United Arab Emirates and Duqm in Oman.

The port of Jebel Ali is the largest port in the Middle East and an important hub for trade with Asia, Europe, Africa and America. Its four terminals handle over 15 million TEU annually as well as significant volumes of bulk, breakbulk and RoRo cargo.

DP World is one of the largest terminal operators in the world. Jebel Ali is one of the most important locations for the state-controlled group. According to its own information, DP World operates a total of 60 ports and terminals worldwide for various segments. With 102 million TEU, it has a market share of around 10% in container handling. The Group is also active in shipping with shipping companies and ships.
