Yanmar Marine International appoints new CEO

Wouter-Jan van der Wurff has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of engine manufacturer Yanmar Marine International.

He was previously CEO of the Cable Connectivity Group, headquartered in the Netherlands. Under his leadership, the company has experienced major growth, including the integration of Infinite Electronics in January 2023.

“I am delighted to join Yanmar Marine International and lead a team dedicated to innovation and shaping the future of the marine industry,” said Van der Wurff on his appointment. The company has a “rich maritime heritage” and a “pioneering focus on sustainability”.

Yanmar in business for over 100 years

Yanmar was founded in Osaka, Japan, in 1912 and, according to its own statement, was the first company to succeed in building a compact diesel engine in an operational size in 1933. Today, the company is active worldwide and serves a wide range of industrial equipment, agricultural machinery and ships, among others. In Europe, the engine manufacturer has been represented by a service center in the Netherlands since 1976, where boat engines have also been produced since 1999. The portfolio was later expanded to include engines for ferries and tugs, among others.
