The ship management division Wallenius Marine and ABB have announced the establishment of the joint venture Oversea. The aim is to expand the existing collaboration “and ensure that customers can fully benefit from future-proof ship performance management capabilities”.
The companies have been working together since the end of 2022 as part of the Oversea project. Now the collaboration is to be formalized. According to the information provided, it is about a “combined digital solution and a Fleet Support Center-as-a-Service offering to help ship owners, operators and managers improve the efficiency and sustainability of ship operations”. ABB will contribute its expertise in marine technologies and Wallenius Marine its experience in fleet management.
Data from on board several ships worldwide will be collected and analyzed, with experts at the Fleet Support Center in Stockholm providing decision support and tailored recommendations. This should enable shipowners to reduce fuel consumption and emissions while optimizing the safety and reliability of their fleets.
