The Hamburg-based shipping company Victoria Marine Ship Management and the classification society Korean Register (KR) want to further strengthen their long-standing partnership – the shipping company wants to abandon its “multi-class strategy”.
A new cooperation agreement has now been signed in Hamburg. Sven Kruse, Managing Director of Victoria Marine, and Michael Suhr, Senior Vice President / Regional Director Northern Europe at KR, sealed the agreement.
According to a statement, Victoria Marine has decided to abandon its multi-class strategy and only use selected classification societies in future. KR has been confirmed as a long-term classification partner for the future. “I am very much looking forward to expanding our cooperation with Victoria Marine and strengthening our trusting partnership,” said Suhr at the signing ceremony. Currently, more than 3,200 ships with around 90 million GT are classified by the Korean Register worldwide.
Victoria Marine provides technical management for various types of vessels – including container ships, bulk carriers, multipurpose vessels and tankers – and covers areas such as HSSEQ, technical and nautical management, crew management, newbuilding projects, financing, recycling and performance management.
