Vega Showcases Advanced Maritime Measurement Technology at SMM 2024

Automation is picking up speed in the shipping industry. As a specialist in level and pressure measurement technology, Vega will be demonstrating at this year’s SMM how maritime safety and environmental compatibility can be significantly improved with precise measured values and digital networking.

Innovative Vegabar pressure sensors are particularly beneficial for measuring points where pressure gauges are still in use. Thanks to the ceramic Certec measuring cell, pressure sensors provide significantly more precise and reliable measured values in comparison. They can also be seamlessly integrated into IoT platforms and modern control systems.

Visitors to the SMM will receive a comprehensive overview of the innovations in the product portfolio and customised application solutions at the Vega stand: Level and pressure sensors for critical water installations, for hot or aggressive media, tight installation situations, or even for interfering vessel installations.

Vega Grieshaber KG has been developing innovative level and pressure measurement technology since 1959. As the world market leader in radar, the company is driving forward new technologies and researching pioneering sensors for various sectors such as drinking water supply, energy generation, and the pharmaceutical industry. Vega employs more than 2400 people worldwide – around 1,200 of them in Schiltach. Vega is successful on the market with subsidiaries and sales partners in more than 80 countries.

Every year, more than half a million sensors leave Vega Grieshaber KG. Each one provides a reliable solution to a challenging measurement problem somewhere in the world. High vessels, temperatures, or pressure. Every industry places its own specific requirements on the measurement technology it uses. Vega’s portfolio includes, among other things, level sensors and pressure sensors for chemical and pharmaceutical plants, the food industry, as well as drinking water supply systems, metal extraction, sewage treatment plants, and power generation stations.

The company has recently expanded into Scandinavia. The demand for innovative measurement technology for industry is also growing in Scandinavia. With the new subsidiaries in Denmark and Sweden, which will open in the spring of 2024, Vega is actively responding to this development and moving even closer to its customers with modern level and pressure measurement technology. Scandinavia is not new territory for Vega. A Vega subsidiary has been active in Norway since 2015. In Sweden and Denmark, Vega was previously represented by local distributors. With the establishment of the two new subsidiaries, Vega’s presence is now consolidated in two countries with promising markets.
