The ship manager V. has signed a contract with International Seaways (INSW) for the technical and personnel management of six dual-fuel tankers.
With this agreement, both partners are continuing a long-standing cooperation under which V.Ships already manages 44 vessels in the INSW fleet – including VLCCs, Suezmax, Aframax, Panamax and MR vessels.
The six LR1 vessels, which are currently being built at K Shipbuilding in South Korea, are scheduled for delivery within a twelve-month period, starting in the third quarter of 2025. The newbuilds will be equipped with dual-fuel engines and will therefore also be ready to run on LNG fuel.

Long partnership between V. and INSW
“We are delighted to further strengthen our relationship with International Seaways through this important new contract,” said René Kofod-Olsen, Chief Executive Officer of V.Group, on the occasion of the signing of the contract. “Our decades-long partnership with INSW is based on open and transparent collaboration, and this contract is a testament to the value we create with our comprehensive ship management and marine services.”
“We are delighted to strengthen our relationship with INSW and further expand our fleet,” added Shubpreet Singh, Senior Managing Director of V.Ships UK. “These dual-fuel capable vessels represent the future of shipping and we are proud to be entrusted with their management once they leave the yard.”
William Nugent, Chief Technical and Sustainability Officer, International Seaways, commented: “This contract strengthens our long-standing relationship with V. and is a recognition of their position in the management of advanced, environmentally progressive vessels. We look forward to the experienced V. team applying their expertise to these state-of-the-art vessels to ensure they operate to the highest standards of safety, efficiency and compliance from day one.”
