Terminal operator PSA reaches 100 million TEU for the first time

The terminal operator PSA International from Singapore set a new annual record for container throughput in 2024 with 100.2 million TEU.

The PSA flagship terminal in Singapore recorded a throughput of 40.9 million TEU (+5.5%), while the PSA terminals outside Singapore contributed 59.2 million TEU (+5.7%). Overall, the Group’s volume increased by 5.6% compared to the previous year.

“2024 was a year of measured recovery in the global economy, characterised by ongoing geopolitical conflicts, trade tensions, national elections, fiscal constraints and fluctuating interest rates. Despite these challenges, we are proud to have reached this important milestone for the Group. Looking ahead, we anticipate further economic uncertainties,” said Peter Voser, President of the PSA Group.

“PSA’s resilience, innovation and teamwork have enabled us to achieve this extraordinary milestone of handling 100 million TEU in a single year,” emphasised Ong Kim Pong, CEO of PSA Group. “This achievement is based on the fundamental efforts of our pioneering generations that have paved the way for our current team to further develop our container handling business.”

The company will continue to tackle the challenges ahead with pride and determination and drive forward PSA’s “Node to Network” strategy by strengthening its presence in key markets and improving connectivity.
