Synergy and Wisdom Marine establish joint venture

The shipping companies Synergy and Wisdom Marine are joining forces for bulker management in a “strategic joint venture”.

Under the name Wisdom Synergy Ship Management (WSSM), a new cooperation is to be launched, announced the Asian Synergy Group, which is also active in the local shipping industry and has a branch in Hamburg, among other places.

The joint venture is intended to consolidate the cooperation with the Wisdom shipping company, which was founded in 1999 by shipping magnate James Lan and is listed on the London and Taiwanese stock exchanges.

Wisdom operates a fleet of over 130 bulkers. Synergy claims to have more than 660 vessels under technical management to date, including LNG carriers, LNG-FSU conversions, LPG tankers and chemical tankers, VLCCs, Suezmax, Aframax, LR2, LR1 and MR tankers, carriers, container ships from 2,000 to 20,000 TEU, as well as Cape, Kamsarmax, Panamax, Handymax and Handysize bulk carriers.

The current initiative follows Wisdom’s decision last year to entrust Synergy Group with the management of part of its fleet. James Lan said: “With WSSM, we are embarking on a transformative journey, leveraging Synergy’s expertise to improve the operational safety and efficiency of our fleet and underline our commitment to sustainable practices and the wellbeing of our crew.”

Captain Rajesh Unni, Founder and Executive Chairman of Synergy Marine Group, said: “This strategic partnership is built on a strong foundation of mutual respect and shared goals. We are determined to make a significant impact on the industry.”
