Steerprop appoints new Head of Human Resources

The Finnish propulsion company Steerprop has appointed Juuli Nyholm as Head of Human Resources.

The Rauma-based ship chandler, which specializes in azimuth propulsion, is thus preparing for expected growth.

Nyholm, who becomes part of the company’s management team, has been with Steerprop since January 2025. She brings extensive experience in team expansion and people management in fast-growing companies, most recently at the Finnish state-owned natural gas utility Gasgrid Finland.

“As Steerprop expands its employee base due to continued revenue growth, it is imperative to maintain the company’s distinctive culture and philosophy,” said Riku-Pekka Hägg, President and CEO of the company. “Juuli’s career to date shows that she has repeatedly succeeded in doing so, and we are delighted to welcome her to the management team.”

“I look forward to taking on the challenge ahead and ensuring that Steerprop’s growth not only strengthens the company’s ability to serve its customers, but also enhances the rewarding and supportive workplace that team members enjoy today,” added Nyholm.

Steerprop, founded in 2000, employs over 60 people. The company primarily manufactures Z- and L-azimuth thrusters for the marine industry, equipping tugs, icebreakers, offshore vessels and ferries.
