Following its launch at the SMM in Hamburg, the Dutch start-up Nauticworx has announced its first users.
The digital spot platform for workboats aims to bring players in the industry together and save both costs and emissions. According to the company, several initial users have already registered on the platform, either to publish a project requirement for workboats or to report regionally available vessels on the spot market themselves. Nauticworx is suitable for brokers, fleet owners and charterers and acts as a “matchmaking” platform designed to bring providers and project managers together. The areas of application for the workboats include offshore wind power, dredging and port services.
Each new customer “strengthens the impact of the platform, increases visibility and promotes the sustainable use of regionally available vessels”, Nauticworx announced. This not only increases the operational flexibility of an industry that often requires short-term solutions, but also reduces fuel consumption and emissions as long waiting times and routes can be avoided.
Nauticworx has a presence at other trade fairs
“After our launch, we are thrilled with the growth over the last two months,” said co-founder and Managing Director Friso Visser. He presented the new service together with Björn Smets at SMM 2024. “We are proud to have customers like Landfall Marine, Braveheart Marine and several others on board and to have successfully combined real-time availability with spot charter requests. Brokers, fleet owners and charterers all benefit – a real win-win situation.”
Next up will be a presence at Offshore Energy (November 26-27) in Amsterdam to demonstrate the platform in real time. “We’re looking forward to building on this momentum – Nauticworx has received an enthusiastic response from companies looking for a straightforward, reliable solution for spot chartering, and these events are perfect opportunities to engage with fleet owners and offshore operators,” concluded Visser.
