The luxury cruise operator Ponant wants to expand its fleet with a new sailing yacht.
The latest addition is the 24 m long maxi catamaran “Spirit of Ponant” with six cabins. With up to twelve guests and four crew members, the new build combines the joys of sailing with all the refinements and personal service that are the hallmark of a trip with Ponant, according to the cruise line. “The ‘Spirit of Ponant’ is a new expression of our pioneering spirit, as this travel format is an absolute first in the luxury cruise industry,” explains Hervé Gastinel, CEO of Ponant. “Our guests will experience what it’s really like to be a sailor, including interacting with the captain to co-create a voyage that meets their desires and expectations. They will benefit from hidden anchorages in magical places while enjoying the first-class service for which Ponant is renowned.”
“Spirit of Ponant” to be launched in June
The new sailing yacht is reportedly currently being built in France and is due to be launched in June 2024. She will spend her first summer in Corsica before sailing to the Seychelles in the winter of 2025. “The concept and design of this Lagoon Seventy 7 has been highly praised by experts and impresses with its spacious interior and exterior areas. Guests will appreciate the high-quality equipment of this ship as well as its exceptional sailing characteristics,” explains Guillaume Le Brec, who is responsible for this project at the French shipping company.
