The Navalis Group, led by Simon tom Wörden, is acquiring a 50% stake in Dalaro Shipping, which primarily transports forest products.
The takeover will enable both Dalaro Shipping and the shipping company from Oldendorf to combine their strengths in order to better serve customers in key markets, according to a joint press release. The seller is the shipping company Oslo Bulk.
Dalaro Shipping, based in Norrköping (Sweden), operates primarily on the north-south trade between North Africa and Northern Europe. Navalis Shipping’s core market is in the Baltic and North Sea. The takeover means that the combined fleet of both shipping companies can be offered in future.

“I have been working with Navalis as a tonnage provider since 2012 and am very pleased to have them as new shareholders,” says Rickard Svenson, CEO of Dalaro Shipping. “This new partnership reflects our longstanding cooperation with Rickard Svenson and his team,” says Simon tom Wörden, Managing Director of Navalis Shipping.
The Norwegian shipping company Oslo Bulk, which has sold 50% of its shares in Dalaro Shipping, will remain a partner, he added. Since the takeover in 2017, Dalaro has more than doubled its freight volume and number of ships.
The takeover is expected to be completed by the end of the year after the usual regulatory approvals have been granted. No personnel changes are planned.
