“This is a significant step that will redefine the landscape of cruise management,” a statement reads. The signing of a letter of intent (LOI) marks the beginning of this “exciting collaboration”, which will focus on the areas of cruise and river cruise management.
Under the LOI, industry giants OSM Thome – itself recently formed through a merger – and SMG have agreed to explore opportunities for collaboration in various areas including technical management, crewing, travel, insurance, project management and procurement services.
“Strategic alliance” between OSM Thome and SMG
“This strategic alliance with SMG is an important step in OSM Thome’s commitment to expand our service offering in the cruise sector,” said its CEO Finn Amund Norbye. “Together, we will introduce a new paradigm in maritime management by combining our robust capabilities with SMG’s innovative approaches to effectively serve niche markets.”
Jim Barreiro de Leon, founder and CEO of SMG, added: “Joining forces with OSM Thome fits perfectly with our vision to redefine the management of passenger vessels.”
