Seaconics, a Norwegian technology provider, has signed a contract for the delivery of five ECMC gangways and five ECMC 3D cranes.
The equipment for the offshore newbuildings, manufactured at the shipyard of shipbuilder Vard in Vietnam, will be used to provide comprehensive maintenance, supply and operation services for offshore oil and gas installations.
The ECMC systems compensate for ship movements and ensure precise and smooth processes even under difficult sea conditions. Their optimised design increases operational safety and efficiency, while reducing the time and effort required for cargo handling and personnel transfer.
The gangways ensure the safe transportation of cargo and crew between ship and offshore facilities. The cranes have a motion-compensated lifting capacity of 15 tons for 3D lifting as well as for underwater lifting. Both systems have a radius of 30 metres. In addition, the company’s ECMC systems benefit directly from the DC and battery solution on board the vessels.
“This is a significant milestone for us and underlines our position as a leading provider of advanced electric lifting and handling systems. We look forward to working with the shipyard and the shipowner to contribute to smarter, greener and safer operations in the offshore industry,” says Seaonics Managing Director Håkon Fauske.
“It has been a long process with good cooperation with the customer, and I am sure that the final solution will be very suitable for operations,” adds Sales Manager Petter Nesset.
Vard Vung Tau in Vietnam is responsible for the construction, outfitting, sea trials and delivery of the five “Vard 3 32” vessels ordered by the Vard Group in November 2024. All five vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2027. With this latest order, Seaonics has sold a total of 16 ECMC gangways and 18 ECMC cranes. Both were launched in 2023.
