SDC delivers design for innovative Gefo tankers

The Hamburg design office SDC has landed a new project. This is an order for the basic design for 3,850 dwt stainless steel tankers.

SDC Ship Design & Consult has signed a corresponding contract with the Chinese Nantong Xiangyu shipyard. A total of ten stainless steel chemical tankers of a new class will be built for the Gefo Shipping Group[ds_preview].

The vessels are based on a completely new concept design developed jointly by SDC and GEFO. The design is intended to help increase efficiency in this segment. In addition to an optimised hull shape, propeller and cargo hold, the new ships are ready for future fuels and wind-assisted propulsion systems. This makes the design a tailor-made, future-proof solution for Gefo’s fleet renewal program.

SDC Ship Design & Consult GmbH is a design office that offers a complete package of services for ships and offshore structures. The SDC team has expertise in various areas of ship design, including ship stability, strength analysis, mechanical engineering, project management and on-site inspection.
