Schottel: Schwandt becomes deputy managing director

The drive specialist Schottel has appointed Roland Schwandt as its new Deputy Managing Director.

He is the new deputy to Managing Director Stefan Kaul. Roland Schwandt’s predecessor, Andreas Block, has moved to the industrial holding company Schottel Industries at his own request. According to the company, Schwandt took up the position with effect from 1 January 2024[ds_preview].

Since joining Schottel in 2000, the qualified naval architect has acquired extensive, in-depth knowledge of the international maritime market. His career initially took the project and sales manager into various sales segments.

After briefly managing the Tug & Offshore Energy segment, he was entrusted with responsibility for the global sales activities of Schottel GmbH and its now 14 subsidiaries as Vice President Sales in 2018. Together with his predecessors Andreas Block and Stefan Buch (VP After Sales Service), he continued to drive their strategic expansion with a view to greater customer proximity and even more qualified advice, according to the company.
