The Turkish shipyard RMK Marine in Tuzla has laid the keel of a Polar-class yacht for the first time.
The new build is a 65-metre steel yacht. According to the shipyard, it is the first Polar-class expedition motor yacht to be built in Turkey. The ship was designed by ER Yacht Design. [ds_preview]
Keel laying began under the direction of Ivan Erdevicki, the yacht’s designer and also the president of Erdevicki Yacht Design. The first constructed block of the yacht was brought into the enclosed hall, where the entire building process will be completed.
Piers Flood, representing the British owner, gave a speech on behalf of the owner, emphasizing his pride and joy in the ceremony and the build.
She has seven luxurious cabin suites that can accommodate around twelve guests. The new build with the construction number NB 126 meets the requirements and will have a hybrid drive and a helipad with a refuelling station.
According to the shipyard, the yacht is scheduled for completion in summer 2026.
