Polish energy group commissions CTV

The Polish energy company Lotos Petrobaltic, a member of the Orlen Group, has commissioned Strategic Marine to build a Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV).

The contract has now been signed. It covers the construction of one CTV of the type “StratCat 27”, which will join the existing fleet operated by Miliana Shipmanagement Limited, a company that is also part of the Lotos Petrobaltic capital group. It currently owns five offshore vessels.

“Stratcat 27” is the first vessel of this type to be deployed on the Polish market for offshore wind farms. It will begin its service with the transfer of technicians in the North Sea and then be deployed in the Polish Exclusive Economic Zone of the Baltic Sea. Technical Ship Management will be responsible for the technical management of the vessel.

CTV to be delivered this summer

The Crew Transfer Vessel StratCat 27 is designed for use in offshore wind farms and meets stringent requirements in terms of efficiency, performance and safety. The design is based on technologies that are intended to enable optimum performance with minimum fuel consumption.

The vessel meets Stage III emission requirements and is designed for the installation of a hybrid system in the next phase. The installation of reinforced hull planking will equip the unit to operate in the more challenging conditions of the Baltic Sea. This will enable the StratCat 27 to transport technicians and supplies over long distances while offering a high level of comfort and safety, the statement continues.

StratCat 27 can carry up to nine crew members and 24 passengers. The CTV is scheduled to be picked up this summer and delivered to Europe in early September 2024.
