ONE secures terminal in Indonesia

The liner shipping company ONE is acquiring a minority stake in the New Priok Container Terminal (NPCT1) in Jakarta, Indonesia.

NPCT1 is an important terminal serving the gateway markets in Southeast Asia. It was built in 2016 and has an annual capacity of 1.5 million TEU. Thanks to its location and modern facilities, it can be accessed by the largest mega container ships.

Jakarta is ONE‘s third-largest port in Southeast Asia. The terminal’s other shareholders are Pelindo II, Mitsui & Co., and PSA International.

ONE expands its terminal presence

This acquisition strengthens ONE’s presence in the important region. Hiroki Tsujii, Global Chief Officer of ONE Product & Network Division, says: “NPCT1 is an efficient and environmentally friendly terminal strategically located in a rapidly developing region.”

ONE completed the acquisition of interests in terminals on the US West Coast and in Europe in 2023.
