Previously, Gerdner Kalle was the Regional Head of eCommerce Logistics APAC for Maersk’s e-commerce business in Asia. This was preceded by management positions at Singapore Post as Chief Commercial Officer, at DB Schenker as Director Fashion Vertical, and at H&M in Global Logistics/Procurement. She began her career as a trainee at Maersk.

“The opportunity to join Svitzer as CCO for Europe was incredibly appealing due to the company’s strong reputation in maritime services, its commitment to safety and sustainability, and the opportunity to work with a diverse, talented team,” says Gerdner Kalle.

“It was important for us to find a new CCO who shares our passion for excellent customer service and brings the right skills to further expand our position in the European market. Svitzer Europe welcomes Sara Gerdner Kalle to its leadership team and looks forward to the innovative solutions and strategic leadership she will bring to the company,” says Lise Demant, Managing Director of Svitzer.

The Maersk Group is currently driving forward the spin-off of the tugboat company as an independent unit. Svitzer employs around 4,000 people, has a fleet of 456 vessels and operates in 141 ports in 37 countries.
