Meyer Werft is expanding its management team: Melanie Freytag will become CFO, Jörg Heidelberg COO. Together with Bernd Eikens and Ralf Schmitz, they will continue the shipyard’s restructuring process.
The Management Board of Meyer Werft, consisting of Bernd Eikens and Ralf Schmitz, is being expanded by two additional positions: The Supervisory Board of the Papenburg shipbuilding company has appointed Melanie Freytag and Jörg Heidelberg to the Management Board.
This reinforcement is intended to pave the way for the company to continue on its restructuring course in the coming years and make the company fit for the future.
Melanie Freytag will join the Management Board as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on November 1, 2025. She will take over this area of responsibility from Ralf Schmitz, who will focus on restructuring in his role as Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO). Jörg Heidelberg will join the Management Board as Chief Operating Officer (COO) from January 1, 2026.
