Metis Unveils New Analytics Platform

Specialized in advanced performance evaluation analytics, based on high frequency data, Metis comes to SMM 2024 showcasing a bold rebrand and a completely revised platform.

The fresh branding reinforces the Metis mission of creating transparent and forward-looking digital solutions that enable its customers to expand their capabilities, adapt to changing environments and embrace opportunities.

Aligning with these values, the upgraded Metis platform features additional information layers, advanced filtering and intuitive navigation in a new »look and feel«, including redesigned dashboards which enhance overviews of key performance indicators (KPIs) in domains including emissions, optimized operations and machinery condition. The overhauled platform also incorporates an all new Metis »Data Health indication«, which evaluates data based on validity, completeness and timeliness.

Metis has developed functionality which is specific to owner compliance needs (EEXI, CII, DCS/MRV, EU-ETS, Shapoli, etc.), with analytics that can integrate with voyage planning and draw on weather prediction services to optimize vessel fuel oil consumption, ETA and carbon intensity.

Metis is also active as a collaborative industry partner for various companies, with examples including its work with Kongsberg Digital and turbocharger maker Accelleron. The company has been part of key R&D initiatives, including the EU-backed »Engimmonia« project to test clean shipboard energy solutions, with a focus on ammonia as an alternative fuel, waste-heat recovery, renewables and energy-management systems. The company is working with MTI Singapore Branch and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) in Singapore to advance the use of AI for the predictive modelling of ship emissions. Metis is also working with The Cambridge Centre for Advanced Research and Education in Singapore (CARES) and Laskaridis Shipping to evaluate the real impacts of future fuels on maritime decarbonization. Established in 2016 in Athens, Metis is majority-owned by the maritime-focused environmental engineering group Erma First.
