Tatham & Co and Sea Green Law merge

Tatham & Co and Sea Green Law, two British law firms specializing in maritime law, have merged.

The new firm has been operating under the name Tatham & Co since April 1. Tatham partners Stephen Askins and James Hickland and Ted Graham from Sea Green Law will lead the firm.

The expanded firm has the expertise of 22 lawyers and greater resources, which will allow it to handle a greater number of cases and offer a broader range of services to its clients, the parties announced.

The merger strengthens the firm’s dry shipping and sale of goods capabilities while complementing the existing maritime team at Tatham & Co. The partners at both firms know each other well from many years of working together, share similar values, vision and culture and are well placed to continue to serve the maritime sector.

“Sea Green Law has grown steadily over the last six years and has been very successful without compromising on work-life balance. However, the young lawyers want to work in London and we are delighted to be back in the heart of one of the most important cities in the maritime industry,” said Ted Graham.

“We are delighted that Sea Green has agreed that the time is right for us to join forces and further develop our combined expertise in maritime law,” said Stephen Askins. “Ted and his entire team are highly regarded in the market. The merger will create synergies and efficiencies that will benefit both clients and the firm itself. Their collaboration gives us greater depth and resilience in an increasingly competitive sector.”

Tatham & Co has been active since 2019. The firm has offices in London and Piraeus, Greece, and is consulted by clients around the world.
