Lars Anke is back as Chief Representative of the Hamburg Liaison Office China (HHR) in Shanghai.
The Hamburg Liaison Office China (HHR Shanghai) has a new head since the beginning of the year: Lars Anke has taken over the position of Chief Representative of the Representation of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg in Shanghai.
In addition to the Hamburg Senate, it also represents the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, the Port of Hamburg, the Hamburg Business Development Corporation, Hamburg Marketing and Hamburg Tourism.
The sinologist, history and political scientist was already involved with the activities of German institutions and companies during his studies in China. He is very familiar with Hamburg’s representation in China: from 2006 to 2019, he was already head of the Hamburg Liaison Office China in Hamburg’s twin city.
Since April 2019, he has been responsible for international projects and strategy at HHLA (Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG) as Head of Sales Projects. Since September 2020, he has also been the company’s Chief Representative Asia/Pacific in Shanghai. Since the beginning of the year, Anke also heads the Hamburg Liaison Office China as Chief Representative.
Pan Hua stepped down at her own request after years at the head of the Shanghai representative office. However, she will remain with the office as Senior Vice President and will continue to be actively involved in deepening relations between Hamburg and Asia as well as in strategic projects.
Ye Miaomiao, who has been with the office since 2011, has been appointed Deputy Director. As an experienced marketing, public relations and social media manager, she brings deep expertise and a strong understanding of HHM’s mission and objectives.
