The liquefied gas specialist MAN Cryo has developed an ammonia fuel supply system for marine engines and has now been given the green light by the classification societies DNV and Bureau Veritas.
MAN Cryo has now announced that it has received an AiP (Approval-in-Principle) certificate from DNV and Bureau Veritas for the design of an ammonia fuel supply system for the safe supply of ammonia to marine engines.
The company specializes in systems for the storage, distribution and handling of liquefied gases and is part of MAN Energy Solutions. The system was developed jointly with the Chinese company Yada Green Energy Solutions, with whom MAN Cryo has previously collaborated on the supply of equipment for the marine fuels LNG and methanol.
