Maersk fills several new management positions

A. P. Møller-Maersk will have a new Chief Financial Officer as of February 2026. Several regional positions will also be reallocated.

The Danish group of companies A. P. Møller-Maersk will be filling several important positions in the new year. In addition to four regional management positions, the Group will also have a new Chief Financial Officer.

In the first quarter, the current CFO Patrick Jany will leave the group, which also includes the shipping company Maersk. Jany was CFO for six years. His successor will be Robert Erni.

Born in Switzerland, Erni has more than 30 years of experience in finance and the global logistics industry. He spent 20 years at Kuehne + Nagel, where he held various senior finance positions and was based in Hong Kong, India, Argentina, the USA and Switzerland. He was later Group CFO of Panalpina until the company was acquired by DSV. Most recently, he was Group CFO of the logistics company Dachser.

“With Robert Erni we are gaining a highly qualified CFO with profound experience in the global logistics sector and a proven track record in process and cost optimization as well as global growth. His extensive international experience and strong leadership profile make him an excellent addition to the Maersk team and I am very much looking forward to working with him,” said Vincent Clerc, CEO of Maersk.

At the same time, Clerc thanked outgoing CFO Jany for the many years of cooperation. Jany will still be responsible for A. P. Møller-Maersk’s annual financial statements and annual report, which will be published on February 5. The transition to the new CFO will then be initiated.

New regional managers

Further changes at regional level will come into effect as early as January 1. “Over the past few years, our regions have successfully delivered on our strategic priorities, driving growth, strengthening customer focus and integrating acquired businesses,” said CEO Clerc. “These efforts have created a solid foundation and enabled us to restructure our regional leadership with confidence – a realignment that builds on the progress we have made and enables us to move quickly in an ever-changing market.”

Ditlev Blicher assumes the role of Regional President for North America. Since joining Maersk in 2020, he has led the Asia Pacific region. Scott Andrew Elliott, Chief Financial Officer for Asia Pacific, is appointed interim Regional President for Asia Pacific. He also joined Maersk in 2020.

Charles Van Der Steene assumes the role of Regional Director for the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East and Africa. He joined Maersk in 2011 and has been Regional President for North America in recent years. Richard Morgan, currently head of the India, Middle East and Africa region, is leaving the company. Since joining Maersk in 2003, he has held various sales management positions before taking over as regional head in 2019.

Guillaume Sauzedde is appointed Regional Director for Europe. He joined Maersk in 2024 as Head of Logistics & Services for Europe. The previous Head of Region Europe, Aymeric Chandavoine, is leaving the company. Chandavoine joined Maersk in 2020 and was initially Global Head of Logistics & Services before taking over as Head of Region Europe in 2023.

Antonio Dominquez remains Regional Director for Latin America. This week, Maersk also announced the appointment of Christopher Cook to the position of Managing Director for the UK & Ireland area.
