The deck equipment manufacturer MacGregor has received an extensive order to supply cargo access systems for a total of nine new RoPax vessels of the Grimaldi Group.
The newbuildings are being built at the China Merchants Industry Weihai Shipyard and are part of the Group’s comprehensive fleet modernization programme. The order was recorded in MacGregor’s books in the third quarter of 2025.
The order includes solutions for three vessels for Finnlines, four units for Grimaldi Euromed and two for Minoan Lines. MacGregor emphasizes that the order is the result of close cooperation between all parties involved in the project in order to precisely implement the requirements of the different ship types. Two ship classes are involved: Three newbuildings for Finnlines with 5,400 m lane meters and space for 1,000 passengers, which will be deployed on the Baltic Sea in the future, and six vessels for Grimaldi Euromed and Minoan Lines with 3,300 m lane meters and a capacity of 2,500 passengers for deployment in the Mediterranean and Adriatic.
“This is a great achievement that underlines our commitment to our customers,” says Magnus Sjöberg, Executive Vice President of MacGregor’s Merchant Solutions Division. “By working closely with the owner and our key partners, we have been able to demonstrate our ability to deliver the exact solutions to meet specific requirements.”
