Around two years ago, the superyacht “Luna” was confiscated by German authorities – now it is apparently for sale.
The 115-meter-long explorer yacht has been docked at Blohm+Voss in the port of Hamburg since May 2022. Because its owner, the Russian-Azerbaijani oligarch Farchad Akhmedov, is on the EU sanctions list, the ship was detained by the German authorities. Since then, it has not been allowed to be sold, rented out or moved.
According to media reports, the “Luna” is currently being offered for sale by several yacht brokers – at a price of €270 million. However, as long as the sanctions remain in place, a sale could only take place with the approval of the relevant authorities.
“Luna” once built for Abramovich
The 115-metre expedition yacht was built by Lloyd Werft in Bremerhaven in 2010. Its original owner was the Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich. The ship was extensively refitted in 2015/2016.
The superyacht can accommodate up to 18 guests and 51 crew members. The ship, which has an ice class, is powered by MTU engines and reaches a top speed of 22 knots.
