The Louis-Dreyfus family, shareholders of the shipping company Louis Dreyfus Armateurs (LDA), has sold an 80% stake in the company to the Paris-based company InfraVia Capital Partners for an undisclosed sum.
The Louis-Dreyfus family will retain a 20% stake, with Edouard Louis-Dreyfus remaining as group president. Samira Draoua will assume the role of CEO of LDA.
LDA, whose fleet currently comprises around 30 vessels, is expected to be renamed LD Armateurs shortly. With the support of InfraVia, LDA plans to invest approximately €1 billion in the coming years to more than double its fleet and accelerate its growth in technological innovation, energy transition, and the development of maritime services.
Two weeks ago, the shipping company’s former CEO, Philippe Louis-Dreyfus, passed away at the age of 80. LDA was founded in 1893 as part of the Louis Dreyfus Group. Originally focused on grain shipping, LDA expanded into dry bulk, offshore, and port logistics throughout the 20th century. Headquartered in Suresnes, the company has diversified into specialized segments, including offshore wind farm support, submarine cable laying, and maritime training.
