Ex-Unifeeder boss Jesper Kristensen, who stepped down last summer, has a new job: he is to become CEO of ship manager Synergy.
Kristensen had left the shortsea carrier Unifeeder, part of DP World, after more than three decades. He has now joined the Synergy Marine Group as Group CEO.
Synergy claims to have almost 700 vessels under technical management, including LNG vessels, LNG-FSU conversions, LPG tankers and chemical tankers, VLCCs, Suezmax, Aframax, LR2, LR1 and MR tankers, car carriers, container ships from 2,000 TEU to 20,000 TEU as well as Cape, Kamsarmax, Panamax, Handymax and Handysize bulk carriers.
According to Kristensen, he wants to focus on “strengthening operational resilience” and customer service. “I believe we are well positioned to lead the next era of maritime innovation – driving decarbonization, digital transformation and inclusive leadership on ships and on land,” the new CEO writes in a social media post.
According to a statement, Synergy founder Captain Rajesh Unni will retain responsibility for the strategic direction of the company.
