Jan De Nul extends contract with Castor Marine

Castor Marine has had its 3-year contract renewed to supply Jan De Nul vessels with VSAT, Iridium, and VoIP. In addition, Castor Marine will supply Starlink to most of the company’s vessels.

The contract covers 80+ dredgers, jack-up barges, cable installation vessels, fall-pipe rock installation vessels, multipurpose ships, heavy lift vessels, and Unmanned Survey Vessels in the Jan De Nul fleet.

Faster connection for vessels

With the addition of Starlink, Castor Marine will provide the hybrid LEO GEO service, which the company claims will bring significant benefits in terms of crew welfare and business operations for Jan De Nul Group, with access to faster internet speeds. The contract will also see Castor Marine provide its 24/7 support services to the fleet.

Nils Crabeel, Vessel Communication Manager at Jan De Nul Group, says: “In the past three years, we’ve seen that Castor Marine delivers on its promises, which is important in building mutual trust and, of course, in daily practice where Jan De Nul regularly needs temporary project upgrades and downgrades on its vessels. We are happy with their support services. From the support desk to installation works, Castor Marine’s account management is one of the short lines of communications, flexible and fast response times.”
