Bremen-based shipping group Harren will be relying on the Vesper performance management platform for 30 ships in its fleet.
Vessel Performance Solutions, a subsidiary of GTT’s Ascenz Marorka, has now announced the major order from Harren. Vesper is described as an “advanced performance management platform” that enables comprehensive monitoring through data processing and automated reporting. Under the contract, it will be fully deployed on the designated vessels from Harren’s fleet, which includes multipurpose, heavy-lift, deck carriers and bulkers, automatically collecting and processing sensor data to generate performance reports and environmental and emissions compliance reports. The aim of this solution is to “improve operational efficiency, energy management and emissions control across the Harren Group’s fleet”.
The level of automation is intended to “significantly reduce” the administrative burden on Harren’s crew and turn performance data into actionable insights that support real-time decision-making. In addition, both shore-based personnel and seafarers should benefit from improved data quality and less time spent on manual checks.
“Partnership with Harren an important step”
Jesper Dalsgaard Rasmussen, Commercial Director of VPS, said: “The partnership with the Harren Group is an important step for VPS. Our focus on integrating the ‘human factor’ into digital solutions makes this partnership particularly valuable.”
Jan-Hendrik Dammann, Deputy Fleet Manager at Harren Group, added: “We are pleased to have found in VPS a very experienced and established partner who understands our requirements and offers an expert solution to support our goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving the energy efficiency of our fleet.”
Vessel Performance Solutions (VPS), a subsidiary of Ascenz Marorka, the smart shipping division of the French GTT Group, is a provider of specialised performance management that provides tools “that enable shipowners to transform their performance data into decision support tools to improve the efficiency of their fleets”.
