“Halunder Jet” sets off in its 41st season

The largest catamaran in the North Sea is back in action. After the winter break, the “Halunder Jet” has launched into its 41st season.

The high-speed catamaran “Halunder Jet”, which travels between Hamburg and Helgoland at speeds of up to 36 knots, completed its first trip of the season last week. More than 300 passengers, who started their journey in Hamburg and Cuxhaven, were on board.

The 56-metre-long catamaran will operate the Hamburg-Cuxhaven-Helgoland route daily until 2 November. From July 1, it will also call at Brunsbüttel three to four times a week during the high season.

Children are free of charge on “Halunder Jet”

The shipping company FRS has two innovations in store for passengers this year. In the 2025 season, every Wednesday will be a family day: parents pay the regular fare, while up to three accompanying children up to the age of 14 travel free of charge. There is a 40% discount for the fourth child.

Helgoland also celebrates Family Day on Wednesdays. Numerous island partners offer special promotions and discounts. On board the “Halunder Jet” there is a special children’s menu on this day and a free coloring book.

From Brunsbüttel to Hamburg and Cuxhaven

Since last season, the “Halunder Jet” has also been docking in Brunsbüttel and this year even offers up to four weekly connections from Schleswig-Holstein. Travelers benefit from free parking directly at the pier and an on-site ticket counter that makes it easy to buy tickets spontaneously.

In addition, travelers can reach the North Sea spa town of Cuxhaven or the Hanseatic city of Hamburg from Brunsbüttel via the Elbe in no time at all. Regular departures take place on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Additional trips are offered on Tuesdays from July to September.

Offshore tours and music

Technology and nature enthusiasts will not miss out in the new season either. FRS is offering exclusive excursions to the offshore wind farm “Meerwind Süd | Ost”. The dates are June 5, July 3, August 7 and September 4, 2025. The tours offer unique insights into the world of renewable energies and allow visitors to experience an offshore wind farm up close.

Another highlight will be the FRS Helgoline Music Cruise. This year marks the fifth edition of the cruise. According to FRS, the event has established itself as a highlight for music lovers and island enthusiasts. Details on the date, line-up and ticket sales will be announced shortly.
