Guy Hindley is the new Chairman of the Baltic Exchange

Guy Hindley is the new Chairman of the Baltic Exchange Council with effect from 1 January 2025. He succeeds Lord Jeffrey Mountevans.

Guy Hindley, who has been a member of the Baltic Exchange Council since January 2019, has a long and successful career in the maritime sector, including as managing partner of the Dry Cargo Division at Howe Robinson, where he has been a key figure for almost four decades.

His deep maritime and shipbroking experience will support Baltic Exchange in its mission to drive shipping standards and services globally, it said.

“Baltic Exchange has always been at the heart of the global maritime community and shall continue to be at the forefront of providing trusted data and services that support the maritime industry at this critical time of change,” said Hindley.

The Baltic Exchange Council is the governing body of the organisation, setting the strategy for member services, social responsibility and charities, as well as relations with members, government, regulators and the wider shipping industry.
