For five days, Zurich was the hotspot for innovative drive technology. The 31st CIMAC Congress brought together more than 1,000 experts to discuss the latest trends in marine propulsion systems.
The participants came from over 20 countries. In more than 200 presentations, Pecha Kucha sessions, panel discussions, exhibitions, poster sessions, social events and technical tours, they learned about the latest in propulsion technology.

Renewable fuels and digitalization as top themes
In his closing speech, CIMAC Congress President Dominik Schneiter (CEO of WinGD) warmly thanked all participants, contributors and organizers for making the event a complete success. “This year’s congress was particularly exciting,” said Schneiter. “It highlighted some of the most visible advances in renewable fuels and the growing influence of digitalization in our industry. This community is playing a critical role in paving the way for the transition to clean fuels in all our sectors. It is clear that we are well on our way to making this a reality.”
Next CIMAC Congress to be held in BeNeLux
CIMAC President Rick Boom (CEO of Woodward) also expressed his thanks to the hosts and looked back on the week’s successes. “It was a very intensive and enriching week here in Zurich. I have learned a lot and hope that many of the innovative ideas and proposals discussed here will soon be implemented. Once again, it has been shown that personal interaction and direct exchange between experts are irreplaceable.”
Looking to the future, CIMAC is pleased to announce that the next World Congress will be hosted by NMA Netherlands and Belgium in three years’ time – in May 2028.
