German navigation specialist Anschütz has delivered the 25,000th gyrocompass in its Standard 22 series to Swedish shipping company Furetank.
At the Donsö Shipping Meet, Volker Wenzel, Area Sales Manager Scandinavia, presented Furetank with a commemorative certificate. “The sale of 25,000 gyrocompasses is clear proof of the high quality and excellent price-performance ratio of the Standard 22 series,” said Wenzel. “We are proud that renowned shipping companies such as Furetank – who demand the highest precision and reliability from their navigation systems – rely on Anschütz gyrocompasses.”
Furetank has compass installed on tanker “Sigrid”
The anniversary compass was installed on the special tanker “Sigrid” as part of a recent refit carried out by long-standing Anschütz partner Syberg Sweden.
According to the company, the gyrocompass is characterized by a robust, high-quality design that ensures reliable and precise navigation even under harsh conditions. It also offers extended maintenance intervals and an above-average service life for the gyrosphere.
The latest generation, the Standard 22 NX, has greater interface flexibility as well as simplified installation and configuration via a web server – a particular advantage, especially for refits. The system is also resistant to jamming and spoofing – a crucial feature, especially in today’s Baltic Sea region.
