FSG is now officially part of the Heinrich Rönner Group. A successful new start is to be made as FSG Shipyard GmbH.
“FSG and its employees have been one of the best shipyards in Germany for many decades. We believe that with this investment we will have a great additional building block in our group in the future and can utilize even better synergy effects,” says Thorsten Rönner, shareholder of the Heinrich Rönner Group and also new Managing Director of FSG.
Rönner bought the Flensburg shipyard out of its recent insolvency. This has now been accompanied by a change of name. The new name is FSG Shipyard GmbH. “We are setting sail for a stable and successful future,” says Rönner.
FSG will deliver RoRo ship
Due to the considerable investment backlog, extensive preparatory work still needs to be completed. According to earlier statements, this includes obtaining permits, renovating buildings, setting up facilities and procuring materials. In the meantime, 310 FSG employees will be housed in a transfer company for four months, which has been securing the transition and enabling further qualifications since February 1. Over 95% of the employees had contractually agreed to this procedure.
One order has been secured so far. The head of the Australian shipping company SeaRoad, Chas Kelly, had once again confirmed the acceptance of the ro-ro ferry already ordered in 2021 and placed the order for completion with the Rönner Group.
