At the start of the season, FRS Syltfähre is once again operating the two car ferries “SyltExpress” and “RömöExpress”, offering hourly departures to and from Sylt.
“With 28 daily departures and an extended timetable, we are well prepared for the Easter period and the upcoming season,” says Tim Kunstmann, Managing Director of FRS Syltfähre. The ferry “SyltExpress” has a capacity for 80 cars or 12 trucks and 599 passengers, the “RömöExpress” 127 cars or 12 trucks and 47 cars and 399 passengers. In addition to cars, campers and special transports of all kinds can also be transported.
Hourly connections
Since April 1, 2025, the two car ferries “SyltExpress” and “RömöExpress” have been running every hour again between Rømø and Sylt. The first ferry leaves Havneby from Monday to Friday at 5:15 a.m., from List the service starts at 6 a.m. The early departures at 6:45 a.m. from Havneby and 7:30 a.m. from List, which were previously offered on weekdays, are now also offered at weekends and on public holidays – ideal for the Easter travel period. In addition, a further daily departure at 7:25 a.m. from Havneby and 8:35 a.m. from List has been added to the timetable.
From 8:30 a.m. from Havneby and 9:30 a.m. from List, the ferries depart every hour until the afternoon – every half hour – with the last departure at 6:30 p.m. from Havneby and at 7:25 p.m. from List.

Two passenger and car ferries connect the island of Sylt with the mainland all year round. The second ferry was purchased in 2019 and has complemented the maritime journey since November 2019. Every year, FRS Syltfähre transports over 150,000 vehicles and 400,000 passengers. Both ferries can connect the island of Sylt every hour.
