The keel of the “Seven Seas Prestige”, the first of two cruise ships for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, has been laid at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera.
The ship is scheduled for delivery in 2026. During the keel laying ceremony, three specially selected coins were welded onto the ship’s hull as a symbol of luck and blessing for the ship.
With a gross tonnage of 77,000 tons and a length of 257 meters, the “Seven Seas Prestige” will accommodate around 850 passengers in 434 spacious suites, giving it one of the highest guest-to-room ratios in the industry. The ship will integrate the most advanced environmental technologies and offer new accommodation categories, new restaurants and many other experiences for luxury travelers, according to a statement from the Italian shipyard group Fincantieri.
The “Seven Seas Prestige” will be the first ship in the new Prestige class, a generation of ships that follows on from the extremely successful Explorer series. This was also built by Fincantieri. “Seven Seas Explorer” (2016), “Seven Seas Splendor” (2020) and “Seven Seas Grandeur” (2023) were built by the shipyards in Sestri Ponente (Genoa) and Ancona respectively.
