Energy transition, digitalization and skilled workers – these were some of the key topics at this year’s Europort. The trade fair took place from November 7-10 in Rotterdam.
The maritime industry get-together was held for the 41st time. More than 1,000 exhibitors and around 25,000 visitors came together on the grounds of trade fair organizer Ahoy for Europort.
It was not only the exhibitors and their product innovations that attracted visitors to the trade fair, but also the numerous conferences, networking events and award ceremonies. HANSA also presented an award this year. As a partner of the start-up event “Rising Stars”, which was organized by the Danish company Marpro, HANSA presented an award. This included a media budget with a value of €10,000.
21 start-ups present themselves in the Rising Stars Pavilion at Europort
The winner of the award was the start-up GBMS. The two company founders Michiel Gunsing and Joris Brouwer have developed a system for monitoring containers and lashing loads in real time for container ships. They have created a digital solution that makes container shipping smarter by combining real-time movements of the ship with information about the container load. This makes the tasks of the crew and ship managers easier.
GMBS was selected from a total of 21 start-ups. In addition, Flower Turbines was named the “best green” start-up, Rovigos received an award in the “Digital” category and Seagull Surveillance was honored as the start-up “with the highest market potential”.
