DNV opens Cruise Center in London

DNV has opened a new Cruise Center in London to better support cruise lines, ports and shipyards in Europe. The center aims to drive decarbonization, digitalization and innovation in the industry.

Classification society DNV has opened a new Cruise Center in its London office. It is designed to strengthen DNV’s support for cruise lines, operators, ports and shipyards in Europe and beyond – with local, time-zone support and access to DNV’s global technical expertise across the cruise value chain.

Cruise operators continue to expand their presence in the UK. Forward-looking shipping companies and operators are focusing on innovation and modernization – through new ship designs, the rapid deployment of alternative fuels, energy efficiency measures, digital integration and increased safety and cyber resilience. As a result, the UK is becoming one of the world’s most important hubs in the cruise market.

With the London Cruise Center, DNV is expanding its global cruise network. The aim is to bring the experts closer to their customers in the UK and Europe and support the players in coping with the increasing complexity of industry change. The aim is to drive decarbonization and digitalization and to enable efficient and compliant newbuilds and operations.

“Cruising is changing rapidly – with greener fuels, new propulsion systems, advanced digital tools and increasingly complex regulations setting new standards,” says Alberto Manfredini, Head of the London Cruise Center.

“For DNV, this means finding new ways to ensure our customers get the services they need in the way that suits them. The London Cruise Centre brings together the best elements of our global technical network and proven cruise expertise under one roof. It gives our customers a local point of contact, supported by world-class specialists – working hand in hand,” Manfredini continues.

Closer to the customer

The London Cruise Centre offers a coordinated package of services that can be delivered locally or in close collaboration with the technical teams in Europe, North America and Asia – giving customers both immediate local support and access to the full range of DNV’s expertise.

“We are expanding our presence so that our customers are closer to the experts they need,” adds Robert Galinski, DNV’s Global Business Director for Cruise. “By combining a global network, deep technical expertise and local market knowledge, the London Cruise Centre is designed to foster collaboration – accelerating innovation while providing practical solutions that reduce risk and create long-term value. We have already successfully established this model in our Miami center – now we offer our European clients the same service, in the same time zone and, if necessary, in the same room when it comes to important decisions. In this way, we help our clients to master complexity and stay one step ahead.”
