The new joint venture Deufol Döhle Projects (DDP) is to offer landside logistics and chartering for project cargo from a single source.
The shipping agency Menzell & Döhle has joined forces with the packaging and handling company Deufol to jointly offer door-to-door transportation for heavy cargo. To this end, the partners have now announced the establishment of the joint venture Deufol Döhle Projects (DDP). [ds_preview]
Deufol, headquartered in Hofheim, Hesse, operates a network of packing plants, logistics centers and transhipment terminals, primarily for the shipment of heavy cargo as breakbulk, but also for general cargo in containers. In the receiving countries, the company takes over construction site management and organizes the delivery of parts and modules to the project locations.
Deufol also operates from Hamburg
The landside network reportedly comprises a total of 90 locations with a total of 2,400 employees, including the Wallmann Terminal and a container packing station at Roßhafen in Hamburg.
As a shipbroker, Menzell & Döhle is responsible for sea transportation in the cooperation, from which Deufol has so far stayed out. The company, which is part of the Döhle Group, claims to represent 37 shipping companies and also offers chartering solutions on demand.
In addition to its headquarters in Hamburg, DDP has had a branch office in Bremen and a representative office in Bangkok from the outset. Christoph Tamke, long-standing Managing Director of Menzell & Döhle, will act as Managing Director of the joint venture. (mph)
