The Columbia Group is expanding its ship management network with a new hub in India. The “strategic expansion” is intended to strengthen the Cypriot-German shipping company’s footprint in the region.
The new office in Mumbai marks “an important milestone” and reflects the continuous investment in strengthening regional centers, Columbia has now announced. The Group plans to hire around 220 additional professionals in India.
“Building on the success of its established center in the Philippines, which supports a wide range of Columbia Shipmanagement (CSM) and Group-wide activities, the Indian office will become a complementary regional center within the Columbia Group’s global network,” it added. Together, the two centers will provide enhanced regional coverage while supporting different service functions tailored to the needs of the local market.

The new office will act as a regional hub covering the full spectrum of ship management and operational services.
