Brunsbüttel Ports and the Danish North Sea port of Esbjerg want to work closely together on CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) in the future.
In the course of planned CCS projects, the Elbe port of Brunsbüttel, as an energy hub, is to play a decisive role as an export hub for CO2 in the future.
On April 9, Brunsbüttel Ports therefore received a visit from Dennis Jul Pedersen (Chief Executive Officer) and Tracy Jin (Business Development Manager) from the Danish North Sea port of Port Esbjerg. The Danes and the Managing Director of Brunsbüttel Ports, Frank Schnabel, signed a letter of intent in the presence of Brunsbüttel Ports’ CO2 project team for cooperation between the two ports with regard to the logistics, transportation and storage of CO2.
According to Brunsbüttel Ports, Esbjerg is one of Denmark’s pioneers in CO2 management. The aim is therefore to share know-how, learn from each other and exploit synergies. With the start of the partnership, which is set to grow in the future, the two companies want to set sail together for a climate-neutral future, according to Brunsbüttel Ports.
