The company Baltic Bulk was officially introduced this week as a new service provider for bulk cargo.
It specialises in handysize and supramax bulkers, but takes a holistic approach that also exploits synergies between the coaster and minibulk segments.
Behind the foundation are Baltic Shipping from Denmark and the Norwegian shipping company Risør Shipping. The company, based in Hillerød, Denmark, is led by Baltic Shipping CEO Ronnie Hulstrøm and headed by Managing Director Anders Svarrer and Frederik Lytzen as Chief of Operations.
Baltic Bulk draws on synergies
“Baltic Bulk is strengthening its presence in the handysize bulker segment, focusing on optimizing routes, reducing costs and providing flexible logistics for cargo customers and tonnage owners,” Baltic Shipping announced on LinkedIn. “By integrating shortsea and deepsea customers, we maximise synergies, improve our services and streamline the value chain to position ourselves as the preferred global partner for cargo operations and ship management.”
Partner Risør Shipping was founded in 2023 by two finance professionals, Thomas Christensen and Martin Hauge, and currently owns two general cargo vessels, the 2004-built Helene Julie and the 2001-built Rebecca. The Danish counterpart lists more than 90 ships on its website and is represented in all Danish ports.
