Anschütz is strengthening its presence in North America with a new subsidiary in the USA. Anschuetz USA is to significantly expand sales, service and technical support for American shipyards, shipowners and authorities.
The German navigation expert Anschütz has founded a new subsidiary in the United States. Based in Bethesda, Maryland, Anschuetz USA Inc. will continue the tradition of Anschütz of America and optimize customer support for sales and service partners, commercial ship owners and shipyards as well as government agencies such as the Coast Guard, the Military Sealift Command, the Navy and the Army.
“With Anschuetz USA, we are laying the foundation for sustained growth and closer partnerships with U.S. shipyards, operators and maritime organizations,” said Matthias Buescher, Managing Director of Anschuetz USA. “This investment will significantly improve customer support across North America and allow us to expand our capabilities with greater flexibility.”
Focus on commercial and naval vessels
Anschuetz USA is building local expertise in navigation and bridge systems for the newbuilding and refit market while strengthening its after-sales and service infrastructure. The new company will distribute navigation products for merchant and naval vessels in North America, with the aim of manufacturing these locally in the future. It will also act as a point of contact for technical inquiries and advise customers on classification requirements, recommendations and operational needs.
In addition to local expertise, an efficient infrastructure and higher storage capacities will ensure better and faster services and deliveries. Customers will also benefit from a higher level of technical support, particularly in the area of integrated bridge systems.
The new branch will also promote close cooperation with existing sales and service partners in the USA and Canada. Anschütz maintains a network of 30 authorized and certified sales and service partner locations along the North American coasts, ensuring reliable support and cooperation.
The Kiel-based navigation specialist offers a comprehensive portfolio of navigation systems, including gyrocompasses, autopilots, steering systems, radars, Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS), electronic logbooks and integrated bridge systems. This range is complemented by specialized solutions for naval vessels and submarines as well as innovations in autonomous navigation for unmanned vehicles.
According to the company, more than 25,000 ships worldwide operate with navigation systems from Anschütz, supported by a global service network and offices in Singapore, Panama and other locations.
