Ship manager Anglo-Eastern Univan Group has launched Sustainability and Performance Services (SAPS), a new digital platform designed to help charterers and commercial operators optimize fleet performance and fuel consumption and meet regulatory requirements.
The system is designed to support charterers and commercial operators in optimizing fleet performance and fuel consumption as well as meeting regulatory requirements. It combines artificial intelligence (AI) with real-time ship and voyage data. The aim is to optimize routes, forecast fuel consumption and efficiently comply with regulations such as EU ETS, FuelEU or CII. The offering comprises seven service modules – from crew training and performance monitoring to inspections and consulting services such as coatings or compliance audits.
Between 2023 and 2025, SAPS was tested on more than 800 ships in almost 46,000 voyages. According to the company, over 700,000 tons of CO₂ and 225,000 tons of fuel were saved, which corresponds to savings of around 135 million dollars.
“SAPS embodies Anglo-Eastern’s commitment to innovation and sustainable shipping. By using cutting-edge technology, we help our customers significantly reduce fuel consumption – one of their biggest operational expenses – while managing the increasing complexity and cost of compliance. As regulatory requirements evolve rapidly, the cost of compliance now often exceeds the cost of fuel itself. SAPS provides the intelligence and tools needed to manage both efficiently,” emphasizes Niraj Nanda, Chief Commercial Officer at Anglo-Eastern.
